We’re all excited here because we have finally launched the new version of onfpg.com, the home of The Overnight Free Parking Guide. You will find a lot of RV parking info there. Be sure to check it out. One of the best RV values we know of is spending the night at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores are a great place to bed down when you are between destinations. The parking lots are usually monitored with video and some have a security guard. Just pull in, go in the store and check with management, park where they ask you to, and bed down for the night. When you are in unfamiliar territory it can be tough to find a Wal-Mart. That’s where the 2007 Overnight Free Parking Guide comes in. With maps and detailed driving directions to over 3400 Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart Supercenter, and Sam’s Club locations in the 48 states the 2007 Overnight Free Parking Guide is just what you need to get great value while you are traveling. At $32.95 (less than a night stay in many camp grounds) the book is a great value too. Shipping is included!
There is a great new web site that is loaded with info for RVers. Consider it your "dashboard" for your new RV adventure. Learn about RVing, read RVing articles, find RV clubs, meet friends in our RV forum, find campgrounds and rv parks... readytogorving.com/
Be sure to check it out.
RV TIPS & IDEAS – Every once in a while a new product comes along which is life changing (something you definitely wouldn’t want to do without). Like the remote control for the TV, or the garage door opener. Here is one more item to add to that list. When my wife and I first started RVing we would limit ourselves 12 CDs each before we left on our annual snowbird trip. Lately technology has made some giant advancements in the area of audio. One thing helping all this along is the personal computer. Many RVers now bring a laptop computer along, and these computers have the ability to store music in electronic files, usually MP3 files. There are portable players for these MP3 files, most notable is the highly popular Apple iPod. You ask what can an iPod do for me in my RV? A lot really. First of all an iPod means you can bring not just 12 CDs with you, more like 4000 CDs worth of music. Like to show off family pictures – the iPod can do that too, storing thousands of your favorites. It can even store movies, and you can carry all this in the palm of your hand. The really cool part of all this is how easy it is to get all this music into your iPod. Apple has free software that keeps all your music sorted and in one place on your computer. It is called iTunes and is really quite easy to use. It will let you copy music off of your cds and store it on your computer. You can also purchase music from the iTunes online store (usually $0.99 per song). Then you attach your iPod to your computer’s USB port and iTunes will put all of your music on your iPod. Up to this point we have only talked about the iPod music player from Apple. There are certainly other players out there, and most of them cost less, but none of them seem to have figured out what is needed like Apple has. Another consideration is that there are thousands of aftermarket items available for the iPod and very few for the other players. Next month we will take a look at some of these aftermarket devices and how they can help you listen to your iPod through in dash stereo. If you have any ideas on this or any other RV related subject, please drop us an email here. yourvalu.com@verizon.net
Thanks for reading and we hope you enjoy this month’s values. See you next month.
